I can not promise that this will play perfectly for you out of the box. Structurally, the Patriot Black features the time-tested combo of mahogany body with maple cap and mahogany set neck with 22 frets and 23 -inch scale. I have “set up” this bass as best I can for my own use. I am happy to reply and provide further photos. Please ask any questions you may be wondering about whatsoever. Here’s where I welcome any and all questions from interested parties. Tuning Keys: Open-back traditional tuners This thing can thump and slap with the best of them! The neck has some great grain in it, too, and fits nicely in the hand. The natural mahogany looks great and has a nice balance overall. I’ve tried to do a good job to capture the most prominent of these in photos. As could be expected from a late 80’s early 90’s instrument, this bass is peppered with nicks, dings, and an impression or two. Thirty years later I now know that despite its modest price being made in the USA really did mean it was well made. I found a great description from someone who would know better than me on talkbass : “ They have a very warm vintage like tonal quality, high output without the attached negative qualities of an overwound pickup, growl like mad, have tons of texture and are very expressive to varied hand position. I thought I’d make use of a bass guitar now and again but that just hasn’t come to be… ![]() Hi! This is a USA made Peavey Patriot Bass- and it’s fantastic! If it’s so great, why am I selling it?
